SERVPRO of Lane County is Dedicated

12/14/2020 (Permalink)

A commercial loss has different project needs than your average residential water loss, and we understand these distinct differences at SERVPRO of Lane County.

We are lucky enough that our day-to-day staff has the ability to train for both commercial and residential losses, no matter the size or type of job.  We are also proud to be one of the very few SERVPRO franchises that has a Disaster Recovery Team that travels all over the United States, so if they are needed in Lane County, they will be in the Eugene/Springfield area within hours of the call.

When it comes to commercial property loss, time is of the essence. If the property loss causes an interruption to business, that interruption could cost our commercial clients a considerable amount of revenue. This is why our top priority is getting our day-to-day staff onsite immediately, but also having our entire Large Loss Division following closely behind.

If your commercial property experiences a significant property loss caused by water, mold, biohazard or fire - you can trust that SERVPRO of Lane County is ready to respond quickly and efficiently so that you can get back to full operation as soon as possible.

Trauma and Biohazard Cleaning

12/10/2020 (Permalink)

SERVPRO of Lane County has years of experience cleaning and sanitizing after traumatic events.

When a significant traumatic event takes place in your home or business, the area needs to be thoroughly disinfected and cleaned in the shortest time possible.

Proper trauma cleanup removes all pathogens from the area, cleans the air and neutralizes the risk of spreading it further. Many times, furniture and other surfaces may be stained with fluids and will need replacement. A professional trauma cleaning specialist will be able to ascertain what surfaces can be restored and what surfaces will need replacing, depending on the severity of the event.

Often times, traumatic events that require calling on the services of a professional are devastating to the residents of the home. If it involved the death of a pet or a loved one, returning to the site of the event will be a very negative emotional experience. A thorough professional cleaning of the area will begin the road to recovery for all affected parties.

Our technicians follow state and local protocols to help transform an unsafe environment back into a clean, safe area. Our first focus is always safety. Call SERVPRO of Lane County 541-345-0115

The Coronavirus Effect

8/10/2020 (Permalink)

The Coronavirus has changed the social landscape more than we could have imagined.  The terms social distancing, the new normal and face coverings have become indoctrinated into our vocabulary.  The interaction with family, friends, and business associates has been directly impacted.  The traditional handshake is now riddled with fear, instead people are "bumping elbows."

As in the years following WWII, great effort was spent putting measures in place to reduce the likelihood of another global conflict.  Likewise, prevention of future viral pandemics is at the top of the list for most of the world.  SERVPRO of Lane County is prepared to clean and disinfect your homes and businesses' according to protocols set forth by the CDC.  We have first-hand experience with COVID-19 cleaning, and we will go beyond the scope of work that a regular janitorial service will perform on a daily basis.

Will it all get back to normal?  Yes.  When will that happen?  That remains unclear.  What is clear is that normalcy will return, and all along the way SERVPRO of Lane County will be there for your business, your home, and our customers.  We are in this with you and proudly stand beside our first responders in fighting this silent enemy.

Hazardous Materials - Tear Gas

7/11/2020 (Permalink)

Tear gas is a very hard substance to clean. Our technicians at SERVPRO of Lane County are highly trained in this type of hazardous material cleanup.

When tear gas is deployed it comes off as small particles of liquid and solids, not actually a gas, but finely dispersed by an aerosol propellant. This allows for the chemicals to settle in on many surfaces.

To begin the cleanup process, our highly trained hazardous material cleanup technicians wash all affected surfaces, and once a room has been properly cleaned, we will seal off that area to prevent cross contamination. It may take an abundant amount of cleaning passes to remove the particles from the surfaces, especially if they are porous.

Our Technicians always use the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning products to ensure a safe and complete cleanup.

For any type of Biohazardous Cleanup, call SERVPRO of Lane County 541-345-0115.

National Day of Service & Remembrance

9/11/2019 (Permalink)

In honor and memory of those who passed on September 11, 2001, as well as the survivors and First Responders, National Day of Service and Remembrance was established in 2009 as a day of reflection.  Led by the Corporation for National and Community Service, this is a day to come together as Americans did following the events of 9/11 to help neighbors in need, and to honor veterans and First Responders in your community.

On this day and everyday, SERVPRO of Lane County salutes those heroes who arrive in the greatest times of need and stand strong in the face of disaster.  These heroes are the First Responders who keep our communities safe in trying times.

Give back and make a difference in your community this year.

Our Salute to First Responders

4/10/2019 (Permalink)

When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers.  You will always find people who are helping"  This famous Mr. Rogers quote comes to mind when we celebrate first responders:  those who arrive first on the scene of any disaster or emergency.

In the event of a disaster or emergency, there are many different agencies and people in your community who are ready to respond.  Whether it's a house fire or a hurricane, we are thankful every day for these first responders.

FIREFIGHTERS, EMTs and POLICE:  Local fire and police departments as well as EMTs are often first on the scene of an emergency.

MILITARY:  When events such as natural disasters strike, different branches of the military are often a first line of response.

FEMA COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT):  As a part of FEMA's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), these volunteers are trained to be prepared for any disasters that my affect your local area in an effort to support professional responders.  CERT volunteers are trained in "basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations".

SERVPRO of Lane County recognizes these and the countless other first responders in our communities for keeping our communities safe.

Look. Listen. Learn. Be Aware. Fire can happen anywhere.

9/28/2018 (Permalink)

October is Fire Prevention Month - a perfect time to examine emergency preparedness for your home or business, including a fire escape plan.  Do you have a fire escape plan?  Have you changed your smoke alarm batteries within the last year?

SERVPRO of Lane County provides our customers with an ERP (Emergency Ready Profile) to have at your fingertips when emergency strikes.  SERVPRO of Lane County prides itself on helping our customers be prepared BEFORE disaster strikes.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) designates a week each October to focus on fire prevention awareness, which is the perfect time for you to contact us to set up a time for an ERP.  "Look. Listen. Learn. Be Aware. Fire can happen anywhere."  This theme hopes to create awareness in the steps necessary to reduce the chance of a fire and how to react in the event a fire does happen.  The NFPA states the following:

“LOOK” for places fire could start. Take a good look around your home. Identify potential fire hazards and take care of them.

“LISTEN” for the sound of the smoke alarm. You could have only minutes to escape safely once the smoke alarm sounds. Go to your outside meeting place, which should be a safe distance from the home and where everyone should know to meet.

“LEARN” two ways out of every room and make sure all doors and windows leading outside open easily and are free of clutter.

Stay safe and prepare now to help ensure you are ready for any disaster.  SERVPRO of Lane County is ready to help you prepare for a disaster, just as much as we are there to help you through a disaster!
